I Like-It!

Do you ever come across a product that has so many uses you just can’t wait to use it?
Well this is that product for me….”this month” anyway lol!

Exhibit A:

The dreaded water bottle situation….no matter what system I use it has never worked! It is a constant mess; it doesn’t help that I have a rotating door of family members and grand babies needing water bottles. Not complaining just stating the facts ūüėČ

If I could redo my kitchen, I’d choose all deep drawers instead of cupboards….but since I can’t, this is the best solution I found!

Before:

And AFTER…..

I am in love with the¬†like-it bins¬†from¬†The Container Store!¬†Here I used the¬†short wide drawer.¬†They fit perfectly inside my kitchen cabinet shelf. No more bending over trying to find all the lids, or sweet family members just putting things in the wrong bin….at least they try ;-)….now they are all neatly contained in this¬†one drawer!

I separated the drawers by water bottles and lunch items. It looks so nice and clean now!

Exhibit B:

I needed some more storage in my Neat Freak office to hold supplies. I like to stock up on things that I use all the time. But I wanted them in the closet, not sitting on my desk. So….you guessed it, I used the¬†like-it bins¬†here too!

IMG_0580 2.jpg

For this project I used  two tall wide drawers and two tall medium drawers.

They fit perfectly on the floor and give me the storage I need!

IMG_0579 2.jpg

IMG_0577 2.jpg

IMG_0576 2.jpg

I added some simple labels and just like that I’m organized and happy!

Exhibit C:

The laundry room! Most clients I work with need extra storage in the laundry room. These work perfectly!

IMG_0600 2.jpg

I stacked three tall wide like-it bins to create extra storage in the laundry room. I paired it with the three bin laundry sorter and we have instant organization!

Exhibits D, E, F, G, H, I and J!

I have so many ideas floating around in my head on how to use these drawers!

Dorm Room: school supplies, bathroom supplies, dresser drawers

Baby Room: diapers, wipes, changing pads, baby clothes, bath supplies

Closets: use as a dresser for young children’s clothing so they can dress themselves

Kitchen: under the sink storage, pantry drawers, cleaning supplies

Bathrooms: back stock supplies, personal products, washcloths, cleaning supplies

Garage: tool storage, golf balls, golf accessories, power cords, gardening supplies

Back yard: bbq tools, pool supplies, pool towels, pool toys, swim diapers

What ideas do you have? Tell me, I’d love to hear! And as always, if you need help, I’m an¬†email away!

Summer Travel

Do you have summer travel plans?

Yes? I’d love to know where you are going! I love traveling and only wish we had more time to do so.

This summer my daughter and I are embarking on a fourteen hour road trip with three kiddos ages 8,5, and 18mo! Sound fun? NO?? LOL! We are going to escape the Texas heat and go visit my son and his family in Wisconsin!

Packing Cubes

To make life easier on the road, I’ve updated a few things to my packing routine!¬†Have you ever tried packing cubes ?¬†I can’t believe I’m just now getting on board!

IMG_9693.jpg

IMG_9694.jpg

IMG_9695.jpg

I chose blue for me and gray and white for my daughter. Our other daughter has a different color cube set  for each family member and she said it has made traveling so much easier!

IMG_9700.jpg

I can’t believe how much room they save. Summer clothes are so much easier to pack and I was able to fit a week’s worth of outfits in¬†one cube¬†!¬†The Container Store¬†has so many packing options right now. I love thinking of all the ways to use them!

IMG_9697.jpg

I also added these cord holders to my travel kit! No more tangled head phones for me! They come in three colors too!

Four Wheeled Suitcase

The other item I added to my travel routine was this four wheeled¬†suitcase ¬†by Eagle Creek. I was so ready for an upgrade! The last few trips we’ve taken my elbow has ached from pulling my heavy two wheeler all over the airport.

IMG_9716.jpg

I love the lightweight and water resistant fabric that this¬†suitcase ¬†comes in. I chose black but they also have a pretty¬†blue one too. There are so many compartments and straps, that no matter your destination, you’ll be sure to carry it all! The multi directional treaded wheels make it easy to cart your suitcase over any terrain! Hello German cobblestones!

IMG_9707.jpg

My other travel secret is keeping all my travel items and toiletries in this bin.  It makes packing so much quicker when all my products are in one place! I have all my travel sized items and containers in one place in my master bath. Grab and go packing is my favorite!

IMG_9728.jpg

I can’t wait to hug that boy in the picture! Wasn’t he just in high school yesterday? Now he’s all grown up and is the sweetest husband and daddy ever. I always told him he would be. Moms are always right!

Happy travel this summer friends! Need help organizing? I’m an¬†email¬†away!

Playroom Update

I’ve wanted to update my grandkids’ playroom for over a year now lol! I have ideas swirling in my head but literally no time to implement them. Kind of like #thecobblerskidshavenoshoes lol!

My organizing business has taken off, and I’m not mad about it. In fact I just finished up my last year of teaching to pursue this passion turned business full time.

But with the help of The Container Store I was able to tackle one section of the playroom this week.

IMG_9345 2.jpg

I am blessed to have four of our five granddaughters here in McKinney, and they love playing dolls and being mommies. Makes my heart happy!

So when 3 Sprouts came out with these sheep bins I jumped at the chance to use them for all the doll accessories!

IMG_9346 2.jpg

They have several animal designs to pick from and they are all so cute! And speaking of cute, how adorable is this happy hippo box ?

IMG_9357 2.jpg

This will be perfect in the playroom to hold all the dress up clothes! You can find the adorable box here. There are also several animal designs to pick from!

And last but not least, and maybe my favorite, is this canvas deer bin!

IMG_9369.jpg

I put one in the room where my grandkids sleep to use as a hamper! The inside is coated so we can use it for wet pool towels too! Have you seen this line at¬†The Container Store? I’m in love with it! As a teacher and organizer I can tell you that kids play better longer when they have a controlled (organized and clean) environment in which to play!

I can also tell you that my grandkids were soooo excited when they saw the updated playroom! And Neat Freak Nana is happy that everything has a home to live!

The Home Edit

I’m so excited to show you the new T.H.E.¬†organization products from¬†iDesign¬†at¬†The Container Store!

I’ve been sitting on this fun secret for a while, and now I get to share it with you!

If you don’t know who¬†The Home Edit girls¬†are click the link to see! They are organizing guru’s from Nashville, TN that have taken the organization world by storm. They just published a book and now have a line of products at¬†The Container Store. #GOALS!

IMG_8881.jpg

Today I’m going to show you their craft room/school room/play room products! I tried them out with my grandkids and they gave the new products two thumbs up.

IMG_8348.jpg

My grandson loves all things lego so these large divided drawers were a perfect solution. He loves color coding as much as I do! He can easily find the pieces he needs to make his lego creations!

IMG_8334.jpg

He built this little house and garage complete with a car that has lights on it!

The Home Edit kids label pack made this organizer and label lover so happy! They are easy to peel and stick, and come off just as easy! They designed label packs  for your whole home too!

IMG_8310.jpg

I love that the lego sheets fit the top of these stacking drawers perfectly!

IMG_8309.jpg

I chose these canisters to hold his lego vehicles and back stock pieces. They stack for easy storage. The labels help my grandson find what he needs, and also reminds him where the pieces go when he is finished.

IMG_8349.jpg

He could literally make lego creations all day, and I love that!! Legos over TV at Nana’s house ;-).

IMG_8316.jpg

My granddaughters love creating art, so I couldn’t think of a better way to store art supples than with these¬†divided turn tables.¬†¬†I’ve always loved these iDesign turntables, but T.H.E. girls made them better with removable dividers and a storage cup!

IMG_8321.jpg

The cup allows you to take a specific item out easily! The labels help the kids know where everything goes when they are done!

IMG_8328.jpg

IMG_8317.jpg

IMG_8327.jpg

IMG_8328.jpg

As a teacher, these would be AMAZING in a school room! Set one on each table and let the students create to their hearts content! Hint: great teacher appreciation gift!

IMG_8330.jpg

One last thing I want to show you is this¬†smaller turn table¬†that I use to hold play doh and play doh tools. The sides are lower but still spin for easy access…. I get giddy just thinking of ways to use these new products all over my home!

Head to¬†The Container Store¬†today to see all the amazing designs T.H.E. girls created. Don’t have The Container Store near you? Visit¬†their website!¬†They deliver right to your door!

These products are kid tested and teacher approved!

Organization: Before & After

My most popular posts on instagram and facebook are the before and after pictures. This pantry I organized earlier this month has gotten the most likes ever!

Here is a before pic….

IMG_8220.jpg

And here is the after…

IMG_0824.JPG

These pictures show instant gratification….and that’s what happens when you organize. You see and feel instant results in your space and in your mental state!

IMG_8226.jpg

When you walk into a cluttered space your brain feels overwhelmed and your eye can’t find peace or calm. That results in the open and shove method….close the door on clutter and “you can’t see it”…..but guess what? You can feel it….

IMG_3746.JPG

By putting a few simple elements in place like baskets, bins, turntables and labels, the visual clutter goes away, telling your brain “ohhhhh this is wonderful”.

IMG_8221.jpg

Do you have spaces like this in your home? Are you ready to feel peace and calm in your surroundings?

IMG_0297.JPG

I can help you! If you live in the DFW area, I’m an¬†email¬†away. If you don’t live in the Dallas area, I offer virtual organizing OR can recommend you to one of my many organizer friends all over the country.

Summer is around the corner, it’s the perfect time to get organized!
